Role: Fabricator Welder
Salary: £32,000 to £34,000 per annum, plus overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0) and benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm and Friday (start & finish times negotiable)
Location: Commutable from Birmingham, Lichfield, Walsall, Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Nuneaton, Burton upon Trent, Cannock and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting for a Fabricator Welder to work within a large manufacturing company at one of their leading automated factories. You will benefit from a friendly and loyal team of Engineers working in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Being proactive in finding problems & repairs that need fixing around the factory - Walkways, Handrails, Guards etc.
2. Fabrication & Welding - MIG & ARC
3. Able to work from engineering drawings and assembly instructions, together with the ability to think outside the box and mock something up when needed.
4. Prioritise the work - the ability to switch quickly between tasks is important as higher priority issues arise.
5. Installation of parts, equipment, structures etc. which have been manufactured for specific sites.
6. Assess equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
7. Assist with maintenance and mechanical fitting and repair works when required.
8. Welding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials as required.
9. Sourcing required material from stock area, marking and cutting of material.
10. Cut materials using different methods - flame cutting, plasma cutter, horizontal and vertical band saws, powered guillotine, and hacksaws.
11. Form materials into various shapes by use of rollers and powered brake press.
12. Drilling holes in various materials using pillar drills, pistol drills.
13. Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned etc.
14. Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and appropriate extraction.
Requirements:
1. Qualified in Welding / Fabrication
2. Experienced in Fabrication and Welding, MIG & Stick
3. Experience in small & large fabrications
4. Previous experience of proactive factory maintenance
5. Physically fit and keen to get stuck in and get your hands dirty
