The Role Lancaster City Council is recruiting for a Waste Management Assistant based at White Lund Depot, Morecambe to provide administrative support to the Waste Management Officer in the Waste & Recycling Team. This is a new role and is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a very busy team. This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. You may be required to work evenings or weekends and support the team in adverse weather conditions. You will be office based and but will also be required to be out and about in the local community to aid in the education of residents and businesses in the district regarding how to manage their waste and recycling correctly. The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm. A full current UK driving licence is essential, as the post holder will be required to drive an LCC vehicle. As a result you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data.
