Job overview
This is a great opportunity for a specialty doctor to join the Older Adult Psychiatry Team in Salford. This is a full-time appointment for a Specialty Doctor in psychiatry to work with the community mental health team for older adults, covering the North Cluster within Salford, predominantly Walkden, Little Hulton, and Worsley.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder would join the clinical team that currently supports North of Salford, based in Swinton, supervised by Dr M Javeed.
2. Liaise with other medical colleagues within the Salford area and support the community team with clinical activities including meetings, CPAs, professionals’ meetings, and other Mental Health Act related activities.
3. Review patients presenting to MATs clinics and complete home visits for MATS and CMHT patients.
4. Diagnose and formulate management plans with supervision as required.
5. Be a Section 12 Approved clinician. Support will be provided to obtain S12 or AC approval if required.
6. Work in partnership with local GPs.
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.
8. Assess and manage risks, including vulnerability, suicide risk, health and safety risks, and risks of harm to others.
9. Not participate in the Salford middle grade on-call rota.
10. Be professionally accountable to his/her clinical supervisor and the Lead Consultant (Dr M Javeed), and operationally accountable to Mr James Logue, Head of Operations.

Qualifications
* Medical Degree
* Full GMC Registration
* 4 years full-time Postgraduate or equivalent experience
* Registered or eligible to register for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
