About the role The Role of Registration Officer will require you to register births, deaths, stillbirths and attest notice of marriage and civil partnerships and all related duties and responsibilities in compliance of the Registration Acts. You will undertake duties in relation to stock security, handle sensitive and confidential information, and record and balance cash in accordance with the Council's financial procedures. You will need to be committed to continuing professional development, keep up to date with changes in legislation and policies, and positively contribute to the overall continual improvement of the service. There is also a requirement for working weekend and out of hours. About you We are looking for someone with Registration knowledge and experience, and who is able to demonstrate working successfully within a customer service environment. Excellent communication skills are crucial as is the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. You will need to be able to carry out duties with great attention to detail, sensitivity and confidentiality. The role will require being able to work under pressure to tight legal deadlines and we are looking for someone who would be willing to continue to develop and train in registration law and practise. Please note that there are certain disqualifications for this role which will arise as part of the application process. We will be conducting interviews on the 5th March 2025 Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently 21.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months salary payments at a rate of 5.38 per month.
