This role within the Finance team will provide core finance support to the Financial Systems team as well as the wider finance team.
The post holder will identify and lead on implementing improvements across the finance department such as the reconciliation of the Finance and Electronic Staff Record system.
They will also need to support the Senior Finance Team with monthly returns, providing data extracts and provide and facilitate financial training to the wider trust.
• To be responsible for the processing of key financial feeder systems used as part of the Trust finance monthly reporting timetable
• Actively seek to reduce the number of manual adjustments across the finance directorate by fixing issues at source (Getting it Right First Time principle). This will involve designing and implementing modifications to existing processes which will require the ability to persuade negotiate and influence individuals across the organisation.
• Participate in the training of non-financial staff to ensure they are equipped with the appropriate finance knowledge, in conjunction with Financial Management and Procurement teams.
• To lead on the reconciliation between Finance and Electronic Staff Records (ESR) budgets ensuring processes are in place to maintain alignment
• Work with the Senior Finance Manager – Planning & Projects to provide data extracts and analysis for financial planning models.
• To support the Heads of Finance in the completion of monthly external returns, internal reporting and other ad-hoc information requests as required.
• To assist in the development and implementation of the Trust budget holder financial training programme
