About the role
Are you looking to start a rewarding career in education? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work across secondary schools in the Kingswinford area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young people, even if you have no prior teaching experience. Full training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for the role.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth running of the school, covering lessons for absent teachers and ensuring students stay on task with their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
* Deliver pre-set work to students across various subjects and key stages.
* Ensure a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
* Provide support to students with their learning, answering any questions they may have about the work set.
* Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.
* Liaise with teaching staff to understand and implement lesson plans.
* Take on additional duties as required, such as supporting extracurricular activities or exam invigilation.
Requirements:
* No formal teaching experience required – full training will be provided .
* A genuine interest in working with young people in an educational setting.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
* A positive, flexible, and proactive approach.
* Organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different situations.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

* Experience of working with teenagers an advantage
* Willingness to train to meet the standards we require of our cover supervisors
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
* Ideally have a UK degree
* Must have GCSE in maths and English Grade 5 (C) or above
