Are you an experienced Art and Design Technician looking for an exciting and rewarding new role?
Are you a recent Art graduate looking to get your foot in the door working in Secondary Schools?
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated art lovers to work as an Art and Design Technician within our partnered Secondary Schools in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have ample Art / Design Technology experience and feel comfortable supporting the classroom teacher with the running of Art and Design classes. You will have a passion for the art industry and be comfortable working in KS3 and KS4.
The Role:
1. Support the class teacher with the setting up and cleaning of classrooms before and after lessons.
2. Support students in a variety of different subjects across Art and Design.
3. Replenish materials on schedule for set classes.
4. Assist and advise teaching staff on the preparation and layout in classrooms for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations, and helping students with learning activities as appropriate.
5. In conjunction with the appropriate teachers, advise students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment and on the correct and safe way to carry out learning activities. Advise staff, as necessary, on Health and Safety issues and on the best way to carry out practical work.
6. Support students in preparing materials for both 3D and 2D projects, e.g., stretch canvas, prepare screens for printing.
7. Assist in practical lessons and after-hours activities when requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
We would like to hear from you if you have:
* Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
* Experience working with a range of Art and/or Design Technology equipment and resources
* Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment, undertaking a range of practical tasks
