Job Title: Senior Planner
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (with one-hour lunch break)

Are you a skilled and ambitious planning professional looking for your next challenge? My client, a leading planning consultancy, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their Applications Team. The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will assist the Directors, Associate Directors, and Senior Staff in managing a variety of planning and appeal cases. Your responsibilities will include:
Assessing potential new client files
Conducting research on planning history and policies
Undertaking site visits
Preparing fee quotations and managing applications
Drafting statements and supporting documentation for planning applications, certificates of lawfulness, and appeals
Overseeing the preparation of documentation by junior team members and external consultants
Negotiating with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) and consultees
Keeping clients informed throughout the process
Supervising technical staff and supporting trainee planners
Managing and submitting appeals, including drafting statements and representing clients
What The Company is Looking For
Essential:
Postgraduate qualification from an RTPI-accredited course
Chartered Membership of the RTPI
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear technical and legal documents
Effective telephone manner and interpersonal skills
Ability to conduct thorough and logical research
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and online research tools
Team player with the ability to manage a busy and diverse workload
High attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills
Desirable:
Experience presenting cases at appeal
Additional expertise in certificates of lawfulness, enforcement, or land use planning (particularly gypsy and traveller cases)
