Engineering Support Manager Role: Full-time, permanent Location: Barnstaple, Devon Salary: c. £38,000 - £42,000pa (subject to previous relevant experience) bonus significant benefits Shift Pattern: Day Shift (Monday – Friday 08:00-16:30) The Role: We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Engineering Support Manager to provide effective management of the Engineering Stores, support continuous improvement projects and administration for the engineering team to improve systems and processes optimising efficiency and minimise downtime. On a day-to-day basis you’ll oversee the Engineering stores function to ensure that parts are available to meet the requirements of the site operations, effectively managing stock levels, keeping the area up to date and accurate whilst identifying any cost saving initiatives. To support the smooth running of the department, you will administer and update the Engineering Maintenance Management System and where deviations occur, you’ll action and close CAPAs and Change Controls in an effective and timely manner. To ensure quality levels are maintained, you’ll participate in regular audits and contribute to projects liaising with key stakeholders to guarantee they come in on time, in budget and to the required standards. Taking pride in your work, you’ll regularly review all working practices driving continuous improvement activities to streamline the movement of goods and storage facilities. You will manage and maintain risk and COSHH assessment, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and ensuring best practice standards are maintained. The Person: Experience in a similar busy engineering role, ideally in a highly regulated environment (e.g. Food/Pharma). Experienced with Computerised Maintenance Management and Environmental monitoring systems. Sound engineering knowledge of production and facility equipment, quality and GxP requirements Good organisation skills, able to manage own workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changeable work environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills (in written and spoken English); can relate to colleagues at all levels of authority and navigate cultural differences with ease. Proven ability to lead the implementation of Continuous Improvement practices, operational excellence and compliance Good team player, always keen to learn and identify opportunities to improve ways of working. Strong eye for detail with a methodical, safety-focused, and analytical approach to work Good IT skills across Microsoft Office e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook HNC/HND (Level 4) STEM disciplined qualification, equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
