About the Role Please note that due to college closure over the Christmas break candidates will not be contacted until w/c 6 th January. Here at Leeds City College our Supported Internship team is looking for a Teacher/instructor for our Pre-internship programme, including tutorial lessons for both our Supported and Pre-internship programme. This role is part time 24 hours per week on a Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday based at the Park Lane Campus, Leeds City College. Pre-internships is a one year programme for learners with EHCP’s to then progress onto a Supported Internships the following year. Our Pre-Internship programme is an opportunity for learners to develop employability skills in preparation for work and for learners to think about the skills and qualities needed for working life and explore job interests through work experience. The programme combines classroom learning, community engagement, and work placements to help learners: Explore diverse career fields and industries. Identify their interests, strengths, and values. Network with professionals and gain insights into various job roles. Develop essential skills like communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and workplace etiquette. Secure work experience placements and support learners in their roles. Build confidence, independence, and readiness for professional environments. Secure and prepare for Supported Internship placements. What You Will Do The main duties of the role will include but not be limited to the following: Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans. Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course. Be responsible for recording student progress. Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression. Provide on-going support in the workplace as required. Represent Supported Internships at events. Work closely with the central SEND team and contribute to EHCP reviews meetings and ensure progress reviews and checkpoints are completed. About You Experience of working with learners with SEND. Good knowledge of Equality legislation and the rights of disabled individuals within the workplace. Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas (PGCE teaching placements/experience would also qualify here) which demonstrates outstanding practice. Relevant up to date subject knowledge. Relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working in the Sector.
