BUYER - £45K - £50K (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE) BASED THETFORD AREA - PERMANENT - FULL TIME (8.30AM TO 5PM) - MONDAY TO FRIDAY

The role
Due to continued growth within the our industry, our client are looking to recruit a new member of staff to join their procurement department.
Based at our Norfolk depot, you will be reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, and working closely with the senior management team, as well as communicating with all other department supervisors as and when required.
Your main responsibility will be as follows:
1. Managing the procurement of set allocated supplier stock.
2. Signing off price changes, and finalising pricing for key accounts.
3. Managing a portfolio of product effectively, therefore reducing the risk of overstock and clearance items.
4. Negotiating joint business plans with customers and suppliers, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions to ensure joint targets are achieved.
5. Reduce unnecessary stock expenses by analysing data, to then feedback to senior management outline possible corrective actions.
6. Supporting Junior Buyers within role.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years product and buying experience.
- Previous experience in feeding back on commercial objectives and KPIs to senior peers.
- Strong category management, product selection and range building experience with demonstrable, significant results.
- Comprehensive retail, warehouse or distribution knowledge.
- Able to work under pressure, competitive and results driven.
- Prior independent negotiation experience and has historically negotiated supplier contracts, in excess of £250k.
- Medium/high excel skill.
- Strong and professional in all communication channels.
