Reporting to our Community Facilities Manager, this is 1 of 5 posts based in one of our community hospitals, supporting the day-to-day management of c11 WTE facilities staff, coordinating all facilities services on a daily basis and are key posts which are vital to supporting patient flow, maintaining our Trust's Cleaning and Infection Control Policies and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Main duties of the job
1. Co-ordinate and monitor the facilities services within the community hospitals, health and wellbeing centres and other buildings.
2. Communicate effectively with staff at all levels within our organisation, with patients and external suppliers.
3. Participate in meetings as required e.g. weekly team meetings, monthly team meetings and weekly operational management team briefings.
4. Assist the Workplace Division by providing an effective cascade of information to all Facilities Services staff.
5. Maintain good handover processes to supervisor colleagues as part of the working rota.
6. Support the implementation of our Trust's complaints policy, overseeing complaints and compliments relating to the service and participating in investigations as required.
7. Respond positively to external inspections, such as unannounced CQC or Environmental Health attendance, recognising when to escalate issues to line managers.

Job responsibilities
1. Provide excellent customer services to our patients, colleagues and members of the public at all times.
2. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with a range of hospital staff, the public, patients and colleagues across our Trust.
3. Participate in meetings as required e.g. staff team meetings, cleaning standards, matrons meetings and operational management team briefings.
4. Assist our Facilities Operations team by providing an effective cascade of information to all Facilities Operations staff.
5. Maintain good handover processes to supervisor colleagues as part of the working rota.
6. Respond positively to external inspections, such as unannounced CQC or Environmental Health attendance, PLACE, recognising when to escalate issues to line managers.
7. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
8. Work in conjunction with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure appropriate access is gained in order to clean and operate within specific areas.
9. Liaise with and supervise Workplace contractors attending to perform specific tasks, such as pest control and window cleaning.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full UK driving license - Manual
* NVQ3/ILM3 in Supervisory Management/Facilities Management
* Food hygiene Level 3
Experience
* Experience of supervising and motivating teams.
* Experience in working in a customer service environment.
* Experience of supervising large teams of staff in an NHS setting.
Skills
* Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritising work and acting on own initiative where appropriate.
* Good leadership skills and ability to lead staff with new procedures.
* Good communication skills; written and verbal - articulate, legible and meaningful.
* Excellent IT skills across a range of systems, including auditing and resource allocation software.
