Overview
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our office team here at Halton Community Combined School. If you are motivated, with an attention to detail and an excellent communicator, who will be able to establish effective working relationships with staff, parents and other professionals, we would love to hear from you.
This is a permanent, full time role and we would be looking for the successful candidate to start at the earliest possible moment.
Term time only
Salary Type: Bucks pay
Salary details: Bucks Pay Range 5, FTE £32,192 - £34,684 (experience depending)
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, times negotiable (e.g. 8.00-4.00 / 8.30-4.30)

About the role
You will be responsible for the strategic management of the school budget, working alongside the headteacher, school governors and the local authority. This work involves analysing the current budget and working together to plan future spending in accordance with current funding, legislation and meeting the needs of the school development plan.
Other aspects of role include:
- Monitoring the school's commitment to GDPR regulations
- HR and payroll
- Maintaining the school's commitment to safeguarding, including the management of the Single Central Record
- Liaising with contractors
- Sharing information with school leaders
- Attending and preparing for governor meetings
About you
We need someone who is very thorough in their work and is prepared to scrutinise and challenge decisions, based on evidence.
Previous experience is desired but is not essential. We will provide training for successful candidates who are not experienced in this role.
Good IT skills are required, particularly with Excel and Word. You will be using a range of school-based software which may be unfamiliar however training will be provided.
This role requires someone who is proactive, calm, forward thinking, can prioritise tasks and is good at meeting deadlines.
