Hays Recruitment has been retained in the recruitment of an Assistant Estimator for a successful specialist constructionpany. This specialist contractor is renowned for creating the finest bespoke timber doors and windows and haspleted over 60 successful years in the construction industry throughout the UK and Northern Ireland. They deliver reputable, specialist services throughout the residential andmercial sectors and are consistently expanding. Due to increased workload and growth, this contractor now wants to invest in an individual who is eager to establish themselves as an Assistant Estimator within the construction industry.
Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Estimator you will assist in the delivery of estimates and proposals on a range of projects across the UK and Northern Ireland. You daily responsibilities will include; sending out inquiries, providing admin support and replying to queries from subcontractors. You will assist in cost planning, reporting price variations, and preparing quotations with detailed specifications and timeframes. This is an office based role so you will not be required to travel to the UK.
What you need to succeed
You will be degree educated, stemming from a construction related discipline. You will have a minimum of three years of relevant employment in the construction industry, and will be keen to take on a role in themercial construction area. Previous experience in pricing Fire Doors would be highly advantageous in the success of securing this role. Excellent IT skills and experience of working with a range of IT packages will be essential, to include the Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast and dynamic environment is a necessity. You will report directly to the Senior Estimator within themercial Team.
