Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Project Manager to oversee and manage electrical engineering projects across a range of sectors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of electrical systems, and a proven track record in managing the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion.
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the electrical project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning & Coordination:
* Lead the planning and execution of electrical projects, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
* Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures.
* Oversee the design, procurement, and installation of electrical systems and equipment.
* Team Leadership & Management:
* Manage and lead project teams, including electrical engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
* Provide direction and support to ensure the team is aligned with project goals and objectives.
* Budget & Cost Control:
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control and accurate forecasting.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage expenses to stay within the allocated budget.
* Quality Assurance & Compliance:
* Ensure all electrical work is completed in compliance with relevant UK electrical standards, regulations, and safety codes.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor the progress and quality of the work.
* Stakeholder Management:
* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the project.
* Provide regular updates and reports on project progress to clients and senior management.
* Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
* Address any issues that arise during the project lifecycle promptly and professionally.
* Health & Safety:
* Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the project.
* Conduct site safety audits and manage safety compliance for the electrical team.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Professional certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is desirable.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing electrical projects, ideally in the construction, industrial, or energy sectors.
* Proven track record in delivering complex electrical projects on time and within budget.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
* Skills:
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and safety standards.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office suite.
