We are delighted to be able to advertise for a 12-month full time post for a Band 6 SEND Clinical Coordinator. This is an opportunity to join our small and friendly SEND team in the Children's Community and Mental Health Division at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
The post holder will provide support to the Clinical Lead for SEND in the day-to-day implementation of the Children and Families Act (2014) Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) reforms in order to improve the outcomes for children and young people aged 0-25 years.
The post holder will support the Clinical Lead for SEND in ensuring Trust clinical staff are aware of their statutory responsibilities to this group of children, young people and their families and are confident and competent in preparing health advice for Education Health Care Plans. They will support the quality assurance process for health advice that is contributing to the EHCP assessment and annual review processes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the EHC process to ensure timely and accurate health information is provided to support EHC needs assessments and annual reviews. This will include reviewing the accuracy and quality of the health advice submitted for EHCP assessments and annuals reviews against a quality assurance framework. You will provide advice and support to clinical staff on completion of health advice documents.
The post holder will have good communication skills to provide effective co-ordination of advice and liaison with the SEN teams within the Local Authority.

The SEND team at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust was newly formed in late 2020. We are a small team of clinicians and administrative staff who are passionate about outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
