PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To carry out routine compliance checks across the DHRG properties, reporting findings, logging on line into Saeker system and highlighting the need for any corrective actions to meet the necessary measurement standards. MAIN DUTIES: • Fire safety: o Weekly Fire Alarm Testing of fire alarm call points in all properties o Monthly Emergency Lighting Test in all properties o quarterly inspection of all fire doors in all properties including state of repair, self-closing devices, intumescent strips or brushes. • Legionella o Weekly flushing of little used outlets o Monthly monitoring of sentnel taps o Descaling and disinfection of shower heads • Electrical safety –6 monthly and annual PAT testing on portable electrical appliances where outside contractors are not engaged. • To carry out any required compliance checks as and when required in a timely manner. • To be respectful to all guests and colleagues interacted with in the course of the tasks being carried out. • To ensure the health and wellbeing of others during times of maintenance activities. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • To complete all Health & Safety and Job Skills training as required. • To work in accordance with company Health & Safety guidelines especially in relation to Hazard and Accident • To be responsible for your own health and safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant EC directives. • To provide a healthy and comfortable working environment, smoking is prohibited throughout the Hotel. PERSON SPECIFICATION: • Experience in a similar role would be an advantage, but training will be given • You should be a team player but able to work on your own initiative. • You may be required to climb ladders and work at high levels. • You will be a car driver.
