As a valued member of our team, reporting to the Supervisor, your role will be pivotal in delivering exceptional service to our customers. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the highway network to the highest standards, ensuring all maintenance activities align with the strategies and policies of the County Council and Essex Highways.
The Role
1. Pothole repair and carriageway defect reinstatements.
2. Carriageway and footway patching and construction.
3. Drainage works, including laying pipes, resetting ironwork and gully / access chamber construction.
4. Kerbing works.
5. Installation of road signs and other small civil works.
Minimum Requirements
1. A current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV Class 2 entitlement highly desirable.
2. New Roads and Streetworks or NHSS 12 training and qualifications would be highly beneficial.
3. Experience in the use of handheld technology (PDAs, Smartphones, etc) would be advantageous but not essential. Local knowledge of the county would be beneficial.
4. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers both internally and externally. Experience of working in the public eye or other customer-facing roles would be advantageous.
5. Knowledge of highways maintenance.
