The Role
We're seeking a Creative Producer to lead the development and production of shorts and alternative formats. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and has the ability to execute multiple high-quality productions autonomously. You should be a creative first problem solver and understand how to research to execute viral trends quickly. You should be an expert in creatively directing live-action and animation content, budgeting, production management and scheduling, and team leadership, with a passion for innovation in children's media.
This role reports to the Senior Executive, Alternative Formats and #shorts.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Direction
* Lead ideation and creative direction for all shorts coming out of London team, ensuring alignment with brand objectives.
* Provide feedback on scripts, cuts, and all project elements to elevate content quality.
* Direct, produce, and edit specific shorts as needed. (Includes: pitch concept for approval by Senior Executive, create shot lists, order props and backdrops, set up your filming space to be visually appealing, capture footage with approved settings and codecs, run gimbals / tripods / basic lighting and sound on set, DIT footage, and execute a final edit including music, graphics, and SFX)
* Creatively direct or creatively produce other longform test alternative formats, as needed.
Production Management
* Work with Senior Executive to strategize overall internal and external spends for the Alt Format department.
* Work with Senior Executive to execute overall KPIs.
* Oversee Production Team and ensure all departmental workflows are optimized, including all processes effectively documented.
* Oversee all final deliveries of content to Moonbase/SAN.
* Work with Finance and Legal to ensure all suppliers and team members are accurately contracted and set up on systems to work across the production.
* Source and manage vendors, contractors, and crew members.
* Accurate budget maintenance and management with regular and accurate cost reporting.
* Manage budgets, track costs, and ensure financial targets are met (approve spends up to $5,000 per shoot).
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
* Mentor team members and create an environment of solution-oriented thinking.
Autonomy & Oversight
* Creatively produce longform shoots with budgets up to $75,000, reporting to Senior Executive for line items requiring approval over $5000.
* Provide strategic guidance to Senior Executive and other team members.
Requirements
* Exceptional storytelling and creative direction abilities with a deep understanding of narrative structure and creative processes, especially in children's media and digital content.
* Exceptional production management skills and previous experience producing fast-paced content, including budget forecasting, rate negotiations, and crew management.
* The confidence and ability to manage in ambiguity and stop, start or change directions as needed by the business.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision and provide constructive feedback.
* Expertise in YouTube Live Action Production (all stages: development, pre-production, production, post).
* Heavy consumer of YouTube content.
* Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and post-production workflows.
* Ability to manage projects independently, while also collaborating effectively with Senior Executives.
