We are looking for a forward-thinking physiotherapist with highly developed musculoskeletal skills to join our team. The successful applicant will become part of NHS Orkney’s physiotherapy team and provide highly specialist MSK assessment and treatment within primary care settings such as GP Surgery’s across Orkney. As a First Contact Physiotherapist you will independently assess, plan and manage the care of MSK patients who would traditionally be seen by a GP, working within and beyond the recognised scope of Physiotherapy practice. The successful candidate will also provide mentoring and competency oversight of the trainee FCP. We encourage innovation and the use of technology to develop services across our remote and rural landscape. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner with primarily a MSK caseload although, with working in a remote and rural setting, it helps to be flexible and have good generalist skills. Having non-medical prescribing and injection qualifications would be an advantage but not essential as training may be offered to develop these areas of practice. The Candidate: The successful candidate will possess HCPC registration and have evidence of specialist postgraduate training at MSc level. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner with primarily a MSK caseload although, with working in a remote and rural setting, it helps to be flexible and have good generalist skills. Having non-medical prescribing and injection qualifications would be an advantage but not essential as training may be offered to develop these areas of practice.
