An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Student Life Team as a Hall Warden for a maternity cover position. Hall Warden roles are completed alongside another substantive role from within the University.
Hall Wardens play a critical role in ensuring the experience of students in our Halls of Residence. As a crucial part of the Student Life team in Student Services, the Hall Warden is responsible for the wellbeing of the students in the hall and for building and fostering an inclusive community spirit within the hall. They are responsible for steering, supporting, and working with the Hall Committee to develop a positive and inclusive hall environment.
Harry French is a self-catered hall with around 393 bedrooms. Harry French is an off-campus-based hall positioned along either side of the Ashby Road. The hall is known for a relaxed and friendly community set in gardens and ideally situated for easy access to Loughborough Town. This Warden will work closely with our external partners at Unite Student Accommodation to help ensure a positive hall environment for all hall residents.
The new Warden will join a wider team of 16 residential wardens, each responsible for delivering their own thriving hall community. The Warden will be responsible for managing a fantastic team of postgraduate researchers known as ‘Subwardens’ who help support the hall. They will also work alongside a Hall Committee consisting of 11 elected students and will work closely with a Hall Chair to shape the direction of the hall community and the committee.
Student Life is pivotal to the Loughborough University student experience and hall wardens are fundamental to the creative development, support, and progression of our thriving residential communities. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the developing Student Life team as we build a sector leading experience.
A Wardenship is held alongside a substantive role at the University. Candidates should discuss their desire to fulfil the Warden role with their substantive role line manager. Accommodation commensurate to such a significant residential role will be provided.
This role is 0.25 FTE, annualised at Grade MA6. Wardens are required to obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The University will facilitate this.
