The Technology Services department is responsible for providing expert support chain strategy and operational advice to clients that operate within a fast-moving global environment. The team is made up of subject matter experts that work to a Manager and provide evidence and insight to support the work of the broader department. Working together or independently each consultant will be expected to work, onsite and remotely, with our clients to help them resolve their most complex and exciting support chain challenges.

Job Overview/Introduction
Our Dev Sec Ops Engineer reports to the Head of Technology Services and works directly with clients. The Dev Sec Ops Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of both Squarcle and client cloud infrastructure, Dev Sec Ops environment and deploying our solutions to client environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise of Microsoft Azure Bicep for infrastructure as code (IAC), and broader knowledge of IAC MS tooling alternatives such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation etc. In addition to this the the Dev Sec Ops Engineer should possess strong knowledge of security and compliance practices, and experience of deploying solutions on client cloud environments.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Primary Duties of the Dev Ops Engineer are:
* Design, implement, and manage scalable secure Azure infrastructure using Azure Bicep.
* Experience with other IaC tools (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM) to ensure flexibility for multi-cloud environments. Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure patterns such as microservices, containers, and serverless architecture.
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient, secure, and automated deployments.
* Security by design
* Vulnerability management
* Threat modelling
* Cloud Security
* Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices, such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
* Experience with DevSecOps practices, handling secrets management (Vault, Azure Key Vault), and zero-trust security.
* Implement security controls for both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
* Knowledge of securing containerised environments (Kubernetes security, Docker security).
* Monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance, identifying and mitigating potential issues before they impact operations.
* Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of DevOps practices across the software development lifecycle.
* Work with clients to understand their infrastructure requirements and deploy solutions on their premises when needed.
* Continuously evaluate and improve deployment processes to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

* Support business development by contributing to the development of proposals and tenders.
* Commit to continuous development by supporting the innovation of our offerings and the organisation of team events, training sessions and recruitment activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)
* Certifications in Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, or Azure Solutions Architect).
* API Design, implementation and management.
* Experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies.
* Experience with multi-cloud environments, such as AWS or Google Cloud, and cross-cloud IaC tools like Terraform.
* Familiarity with on-premises networking and infrastructure solutions.
* Knowledge of serverless architectures, such as Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, or Google Cloud Functions.
* Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* Experience in handling Big Data Architecture.
* Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
* Strong proficiency in Azure Bicep for infrastructure automation.
* Hands-on experience in deploying solutions on client premises.
* In-depth understanding of security best practices, including network security, identity management, and data encryption.
* Experience with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.
* In-depth understanding of security best practices, including network security, identity management, data encryption, and DevSecOps practices.
* Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines).
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
* Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, or other languages.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

* Knowledge of the ITIL Framework.

This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained, or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn.
