AWE is recruiting a Junior Market Intelligence Specialist to play a key part of AWE's Commercial (Supply Chain) department, monitoring and reporting on macro and micro influences, and supporting critical decision-making within the wider Procurement team. Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking (With a plan to relocate to Green Park in Reading during summer 2025). Package: £36,000 to £45,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Let us introduce the role As a Junior Market Intelligence Specialist, you will sit within a close-knit team which relies on passion, knowledge and a willingness to learn to set up multi-million-pound contracts to deliver a range of procurement requirements to support the defence and security of the UK. Working closely with the Senior Market Intelligence Specialist, this role provides essential support for the researching, monitoring and analysing of category, supplier and sector landscapes to anticipate industry developments, advancements and risks, to feed into a range of strategies and supporting material. You will work on intelligence topics according to the road map. Proactively recognising media and industry activity to distribute to stakeholders. Inputting intelligence into stakeholders meeting and workshops. Key elements of the role including: Seek and collate data/intelligence in accordance with specific category briefs, Maintain (and create) regular market intelligence reports, PESTLEs and/or newsletters, Contribute to wider decision-making through quality and timely intelligence deliverables, Proactively keep abreast of broader organisational and industry developments, Support in the preparation of required intelligence documents for the dissemination of analysis to relevant audiences, Support commercial and product strategies, specifically in relation to understanding different market dynamics, Act as the subject matter expert in relation to the research tools and platforms, Maintain the relationship with current suppliers of market intelligence data/platforms and primary research, Support in the execution of in-depth primary industry research within specific category segments. Ideally you will have experience of working within a research or intelligence role in similar organisation/industry. Working with procurement procedures, delivering multiple objectives, and familiar with SWOT, PESTLE, 5 Forces. Experienced in secondary and/or desk research, confidence in seeking intelligence from open source resources. We would love to hear from individuals with the following: Proficient with MS Office packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint, Accuracy in data analysis, Strong attention to detail, Numerate and able to translate and analyse data, Manage multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities, Proactive approach, tackles issues before they become problems, Aptitude for working in a process-led environment, Market Research Society (MRS) Certificate desirable by not essential.
