We are looking for an Assembly Technician on a permanent basis to join a global leader in process and packaging technology, dedicated to delivering intelligent and sustainable solutions for the pharmaceutical and food industries. We are ideally looking for someone with experience in a similar position with the ability to read engineering drawings, ideally with experience in machinery, fabrication, or sheet metal.
Your Role: Assembly Technician
Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, the role will entail the assembly and commissioning of machines, machine modules, and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings and 3D models. The successful applicant, ideally apprentice trained, must have a keen eye for detail and an understanding of engineering processes.
Working within a small manufacturing team, the applicant must be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work well in a team and individually.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Follow all department procedures
2. Assemble parts to the required specification including:
1. machine build
2. modular assemblies
3. sub-assemblies
3. Complete all quality documentation required for the tasks
4. Identify problems with assemblies/parts and raise any quality issues following the company procedures
5. Operate handling equipment and machinery when trained to do so
6. Support the sustainment and improvement of housekeeping and health and safety practices
7. Support in the implementation and sustainment of 5S standards
8. Assist in the achievement of the Assembly operational plan to include on-time delivery and build efficiency
Salary Package:
1. Competitive Annual Salary - £28,000-£32,000 (DOE)

What We're Looking For:
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Apprentice trained
2. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand Bill of Materials
3. Ability to understand mechanical design assembly
4. Previous assembly experience in a machine manufacturing environment
5. Experience of assembling large, fabricated parts to engineering drawings
6. Ability to handle a variety of parts including sheet metal, machined, and electrical components
