This is your chance to be part of a Corporate Human Resources team at a top global hospitality company As a Interim Team Leader of Payroll Compliance, you will partner with our business leaders to attract, retain, and develop Hilton's most important asset, our Team Members. On the Payroll & Compliance team, reporting to the Manager of Payroll & Compliance, you will be a key part of the payroll leadership team, and will provide leadership support to our team members on a daily basis, and will work closely with the Manager and Senior Manager to ensure business and statutory obligations are met. You will share your knowledge and guidance with the team, and ensure we deliver a high standard of accurate, detailed analytics, reconciliations, and compliance reporting, in accordance with statutory and business deadlines. Some of the key projects for the Payroll Compliance team are: HMRC compliance reporting for PAYE; annual PSA analysis and reporting; P11Ds; Short Term Business Visitors annual return; Additional Holiday Pay monthly calculations; Daily Pay; Gender Pay reporting; Pension auto enrolment compliance; SOX compliance and controls; Payroll Balance Sheet Reconciliations; General Ledger journals for Payroll; Process Improvements; Audit reviews;, vendor management; and assisting with benefit reviews for future business development. A Day-In-The-Life The Team Leader Payroll Compliance, will assume responsibility for leading the payroll compliance team, within Hilton's UK Shared Services Operation. They will also work closely with the Payroll Management team on business initiatives, process improvements and customer service delivery. The Team Leader will support and ensure efficient and accurate delivery of statutory payroll compliance analysis, reporting and reconciliations, on behalf of our Hilton properties and corporate functions, and circa 10,000 team members. They will motivate the Payroll Compliance team to provide an exceptional customer service experience, and, will be expected to have the relevant knowledge and expertise capable of supporting the design and delivery of an optimal payroll compliance solution. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique. What your day-to-day will be like: • Provide leadership, direction & support to the Payroll Compliance team members, establishing individuals objectives which are consistent with organizational goals. Have regular one-to-one discussions and performance reviews to establish training and development needs. • Provide guidance and leadership to the Payroll Compliance Team to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time, in accordance with legislative requirements and deadlines. • Check and approve completed tasks, and payment requests delivered by the Analysts and Senior Analysts, such as off-cycle team member payments, 3rd party payment requests, PAYE Settlement Agreement reviews. • Ensure the team deliver a high standard of reconciliations and presentation of data, and, encourage positive and can-do attitude within the team. Drive the team to encourage an environment to strive for continuous improvements. • Enhance team skills and knowledge by providing training updates on legislation changes, webinar access to HMRC etc, and provide support to the business with change management activities • Work with the Manager and Senior Manager to deliver Dashboard statistics. • Keep up to date with UK Payroll and tax regulations, statutory requirements and pension legislation relating to Payroll, Pensions, Benefits in Kind and employment related benefits ensuring Hilton's compliance. • Ensure auto enrolment pension processes are complied with for our various Owners' pension schemes, including re-enrolment and staging for new properties. How you will collaborate with others: • Attending in-person meetings, MS Teams, Zoom calls, are an essential part of your daily collaboration with others. You will join daily discussions with our payroll and compliance team, and regular connects with our Shared Service Centre partners in Hyderabad, and our Operations teams. • Work closely with key partners, such as Hilton Data Governance, Comp& Bens team, Pension providers and advisers, HR, Finance and Tax teams, Audit teams and Exec Comp to ensure compliance and business needs are met. • Support Payroll Management team with recruitment and retaining the best people for our team. Also, integrate with the global payroll and HR teams and provide support with business project calls, and adoc audit calls as required. What projects you will take ownership of: • Benefits in Kind analysis/review and reporting, Payroll Accounting, and Payroll Compliance activities and task deliverables. • Pension auto enrolment compliance, including re-enrolment for our multiple owner schemes, and declarations are submitted timeously. • Compliance analysis for business tax returns, such as PSA, Short Term Business Visitors return, HMRC monthly and annual returns, and other statutory tasks. • Training programs for the Compliance team, and ensuring all statutory regulation changes are implemented and processes updated as required. Also ensure systems are adapted for any changes, to deliver accurate reporting. • Develop and maintain SOPs/Desktop Procedures, ensuring that key tasks are properly documented and updated in the event of change. • Continuously monitor and review process controls to ensure compliance with Company Policy, SOX and audit requirements; ensure documentation is relevant and up to date • Plan the workload and timetable of team tasks to ensure deliverables are met, in particular to ensure compliance with statutory & legislative deadlines WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT You have these minimum qualifications: • years of similar experience in a Senior Analyst or above role/capacity. • In-depth exposure to the latest payroll and tax compliance procedures and legislation. • Advanced excel skills including pivots, vlookups, advanced formatting skills are required. • Strong knowledge and understanding of UK Pension auto-enrolment regulations • Strong inter-personal skills and able to communicate and influence at all levels. • Critical thinker, motivator, collaborative, problem solving abilities, logical and customer orientated leader • Travel up to 20% on occasion may be required.
