Northumbria Endoscopy Trust wide Service is expanding. It is exciting times in Endoscopy with increased demand for our services. Our team is continuously developing and the Trust wide service is growing to allow greater access locally for our patients.
An opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic, dedicated Band 5 Endoscopy Nurses to join the team. The post holders will be required to work Trust-wide across all sites if and when required. Post will also include weekend working and when competencies achieved, participation in the on-call rota for the service is required.
There are various hours available up to 37.5. The post holders main base will be at Wansbeck General Hospital.
The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and have an inclusive team work ethos to shape the creation of a collective team work culture within the Trust.
• Reporting to the Endoscopy Unit Managers and Endoscopy Junior Sisters / Charge Nurse, the individual will be responsible for; holistic patient care from admission to discharge; provide cross-site cover as required; provide and plan nursing care, and provide effective communication across the multi-disciplinary team.
• In addition, a contribution to the attainment of JAG Accreditation within the Endoscopy Unit will be expected.

• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager
• To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
• To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
• To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards
• To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership
style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others and (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
