Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias Location: Newcastle Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 7am - 4pm; Friday, 7am - 1pm (40-hour week with evening call-out flexibility required; call-outs paid). About the Role: Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias? Join our clients dynamic team of Site Maintenance Engineers and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. Working closely with the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you’ll tackle a wide variety of electrical maintenance tasks, helping to minimize machine downtime and driving continuous improvement across operations. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, with a key focus on the Paint System and Punch and Press Machines. Conduct routine maintenance and respond promptly to breakdowns or faults Diagnose issues and ensure timely resolutions to keep equipment running efficiently Carry out inspections to ensure the safe and effective operation of key machinery. Preventative Maintenance: Implement and carry out a preventative electrical maintenance program for production and facility systems. Proactively ensure the optimal performance of critical equipment. Electrical Repairs & Installations: Perform emergency repairs and resolve unplanned issues. Install new electrical components and ensure system functionality post-repair. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with legal and company-specific electrical safety standards. Qualifications & Skills HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance role with an electrical bias. Proficient in the use of handheld power tools and the ability to read technical 2D drawings. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Reliable, resilient, and detail-oriented.
