Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Governance team for an individual to join the Division of Surgery Diagnostics and Clinical Support as a Band 7 Governance Facilitator. Working closely with the Lead Nurse, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating and managing effective governance processes across the Division, supporting the governance programme to include patient quality of care, safety, and experience. This is a temporary 12-month post to cover a secondment.
Main duties of the job
* To work closely with the Lead Nurse, Matrons, and Service Managers on all Divisional matters pertaining to governance, quality, and audit and to lead on developing and implementing changes where necessary.
* To develop and deliver an effective governance and risk management programme within the Division.
* Coordinate the operational management of quality and risk activities within the Division and produce reports and information in a variety of formats.
* To engage with the Risk & Governance and Information Services teams to deliver monthly data reports.
* To oversee and review trends in line with audit outcomes, risk assessments, user involvement, and adverse incidents.
* To work closely with clinical teams to disseminate improvement aim measurements and provide regular updates to evaluate the direction of improvement.
* To support clinical teams to analyse their own data and identify further opportunities to share good practice and/or continued improvements.
* To undertake audit and participate in the analysis of audit data. Provide reports and support the implementation of change resulting from audit outcomes.
To prepare data-based reports using ‘measurement for improvement’ methodology.

Education and Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent measurable level of experience within a governance setting
* Certificate in management or equivalent
* Leadership Course
Experience
* Experience at band 6 level or equivalent measurable relevant experience within a healthcare setting
* Working knowledge and experience of using MS Office packages - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint including data collection and input
* Previous band 7 experience
* Coordination of governance-related activities
Skills
* Broad knowledge of patient care standards
* Knowledge of external assurance standards
* Experience of team building
* Strong leadership ability
* Ability to prepare and develop reports in a variety of presentations
