We are looking for a hardworking, reliable person to join our team. The successful person will need experience in a patient-centered/customer service environment and demonstrable administration skills. The position is 22.5 hours per week for a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Main duties of the job
The purpose of this post is to provide a comprehensive administrative service within the Division of Surgery. The post holder's main duties will include planning, organising, directing, and coordinating the work of the department. The Pathway Coordinator will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision. They will be able to demonstrate flexibility and use their own initiative to carry out duties in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation, thus enabling the Consultant and his/her team to utilise their time in an efficient and effective manner. The post holder will provide a confident professional service to all patients and their parents, whilst supporting them throughout their pathway of care. It is vital that confidentiality be maintained at all times. The post holder must adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures at all times.

In addition to the hospital site located in the West Derby area of Liverpool, Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park building in the nearby borough of Sefton.

Person Specification
* At least two years' experience as a medical secretary, AMSPAR Diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrate the ability to organise own duties and prioritise tasks within a busy team environment.
* The use of information systems, e.g. word processing packages, spreadsheets, databases, patient administration system, email, etc.
* BTEC or equivalent level of knowledge on a range of Trust policies and management procedures, requiring experience or ongoing further development/training, e.g. Team Leading & Management.
* Experience of conducting personal development plans.
* NHS Experience.
