About the role
We are delighted to share that a new opportunity has arisen on a 14 month Parental Leave Cover Contract for a Product Development Manager to join the Fresh Food team here at Tesco.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and delivering the product direction & produce strategy by inspiring the teams with trends, opportunities and first to market ideas that deliver great quality, value and exciting products for our customer.
This role would suit someone that has experience of working in the food industry or formal qualification and has a passion for product & trends.
You will be responsible for
* Leading a small team to ensure the delivery of the Product Direction & Produce strategy and our evolution as a team.
* Oversee the total Product Direction strategy for all Seasonal Events which is embedded with trends, insights and product expertise.
* Ensure quality & innovation are at the heart of what we do and all new products have clear customer & business rationale.
* Oversee the Horti & Produce category on a day to day perspective ensuring that the product vision is embedded into their strategy.
* Lead product perspective for the ‘seasonal events’ NWT across the business to develop seasonal event strategy, manage the overarching critical path and set the vision - Work collaboratively with the chef team to bring to life trends & strategy for Seasonal Events/ Future Food Projects.
* Lead the management of allocated Future Food projects to agreed criteria and work collaboratively across the business to incorporate thinking from the right teams.
* Participating in Leadership team meetings and contributing to the broader Product Development/Direction plans whilst supporting change & contributing to the wider business projects.
* Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.

You will need
* Proven track record in product & proposition development.
* Range management in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of working in the food industry or formal qualification.
