Who we are looking for:
FABF is seeking a Junior Accountant to join our firm’s expanding team in support of our private equity business to ensure accurate processing and reporting in all areas. Reporting to our Controller and working closely with our financial management team, the candidate must be comfortable in a small firm organizational structure, a self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision while being flexible to work on multiple business activities at once.
What you will be working on:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of the general ledger, corresponding financial statements, and related supporting documents.
2. Responsible for full-cycle general accounting and month-end close activities.
3. Assisting with Accounts Payables/Receivables.
4. Performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit and tax preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
5. Developing monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
6. Responsible for US state charitable solicitation registrations ensuring compliance with state laws.
7. Preparing Events PL and full expense monitoring and reporting.
8. Preparing ad hoc reporting to upper management upon request.
9. Maintaining financial records for affiliate companies and investor accounts.
10. Reconciling bank accounts, intercompany transactions, other balance sheet accounts, and investor activity by gathering and balancing information.
11. Updating and maintaining AOP.
12. Supporting the Controller and management with other transaction, reporting, and analytical activities.
About You:
1. 5+ years’ experience in general or tax accounting.
2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
3. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases, including QuickBooks and Excel.
4. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
5. Proven ability to work independently and accurately in a remote environment.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. High attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Reliable to meet recurring deadlines and ad hoc deliverables timely and accurately.
9. Effective communication skills.
