Main Purpose of Job:
·To be registered with Ofsted and as such, be legally responsible and accountable for the effective and safe running of the service.
·To be accountable for delivering high-quality care to the children and young people who reside within the children's service. Responsible for the delivery of all care services, as well as strategic planning within the home and the day to day management of the service.
·To demonstrate the ability to maintain and expand on the well-established principles and practice standards which exist within the iMap organisation and the service whilst proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of childcare services.
·To ensure that the home is managed effectively and efficiently and is maintained in a warm, caring and homely manner. This involves being personally available, performance of staff supervisions, mentorship, conflict resolution, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care-focused training and the accessing of appropriate services.
· To act as an effective practice leader by monitoring the quality and professionalism of the team.
·To understand the principles of values-based leadership and ensure that at all times staff members are upholding iMap’s key principles of understand, empower and aspire.
Specific Responsibilities:
· To be responsible for all staff working to enrich the lives of the children and young people in our care by understanding their specific needs, empowering them with new skills and helping them to aspire towards their goals and dreams.
· Ensure the service is compliant with all relevant statutory regulations.
· Work in conjunction with iMap’s safeguarding panel to ensure that any matters relating to child protection and safeguarding are managed in line with current legislation, national standards and safeguarding best practice.
· Co-ordinate and access the relevant appropriate services (such as health, education or therapy) to ensure that the needs of each child and young person who uses services is met.
· Work effectively as part of a multi-agency planning team to meet children and young people need and maintain contact with a wide range of outside professionals, such as general practitioners, dentists therapists etc. The registered manager will be expected to assist as part of the assessment and complex case team.
· Have accountability for the timely and legible authorship, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of individual care plans, risk assessments and positive and proactive support plans.
· Act as a mentor to support the senior support worker in provision of best possible childcare and behavioural practices.
· Implement and maintain iMap’s underpinning philosophies and practice framework, ensuring that care standards are never compromised, as well as ensuring that all of iMap’s policies and procedures are implemented appropriately.
· Be accountable for the implementation and effective monitoring of iMap’s comprehensive and integrated quality assurance systems, including taking responsibility for all duties associated with regulatory compliance.
·To manage referrals, assessments and admissions, being mindful of compatibility and support requirements, and ensuring full occupancy of the home.
·Effectively manage the homes budget, ensuring full financial compliance with regular monthly reporting to iMap’s board of directors.
· Be responsible and accountable for ensuring iMap’s health & safety policies are maintained and adhered to within service and ensure that all staff are aware of the organisations health & safety procedures.
· Arrange, complete and record appropriate levels of post significant event debrief either as a team or on an individualised basis when triggered during the significant event reporting process or when requested by an individual staff member.
·Work as part of the team rota directly supporting children and young people as and when required.
About the RoleWe are excited to be seeking a passionate and committed Registered Manager to lead our brand new 4 bedded Children's home in Winsford. This is a great opportunity for an innovative manager to guide a team to provide on outstanding, responsive and nurturing home for autistic children. The home will be designed to fit around the needs of the young person- rather than the young person being expected to fit into the home. You will be supported by an experienced team, including a Senior Support Worker, Shift Lead and a Clinical and Educational team.
