Job title: International Trade Services Adviser
Salary: £22,000 to £23,500 per annum. Pro rata for part time
Based at: Nottingham with agile working. Additional travel may be required between offices
Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week). Part time also considered at a minimum of 28 hours per week
1. WHY THE POST EXISTS
The range of International Trade services provided by the Chamber has developed in recent years resulting in new business opportunities and team growth. In this newly created role, you will become an accredited adviser following successful completion of the training and examinations programme (full training included) providing cover across one or more International Trade services such as Export Documentation, Arab & Egyptian Documents, Customs Declarations and ATA Carnets.
You will need to be adaptable, able to learn through on-the-job training and formal qualification routes, contribute positively and professionally to the service and be a great team player. Previous experience in International Trade would be useful but not essential.
2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
After initially focusing on gaining an understanding of the department, its function and the wider company, you will be enrolled in an extensive internal and external training programme including undertaking examinations to become an accredited adviser. Once trained you will work closely with International Trade Services and Customs Advisers to complete import and export documentation, customs entries and/or ATA Carnets on behalf of our customers.
Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, excellent record keeping and existing competence with Microsoft office is essential to succeed. Building and maintaining relationships with team members and our customers including being well informed to deal with enquiries and sell services are also key activities.
