Job Description The Contract Management Associate Director is responsible for leading the contract management function that supports all contract management globally for Commercial and G&A organizations. They lead a small team who supports contract management for Commercial and G&A organizations globally, ensuring that all projects are kicked off quickly and compliantly, while working cross functionally with many groups including Strategic Sourcing, Third Party Risk Management Office (TPRMO), OBIE, Finance, Legal, Procurement and our external partners (vendors) to meet the needs of the International organizations. Own the contract management process across in scope International organizations and ensure all contracting related processes and initiatives align across supporting functions. Key Duties & Responsibilities Own accountability for delivery of timely and compliant contracting and business operational support to International organizations Onboard, train, set goals and monitor objectives and projects for the team Serve as point of escalations for concerns related to all contracts in scope In partnership with manager, Legal, Strategic Sourcing, TPRMO and business, develop and implement a fit for purpose contract management process to support all International markets Collaborate with TPRMO to ensure that all contract management processes are aligned with the risk management process Develop and execute strategic staffing plans to align team’s operational capabilities with increasing contracts volume and current contracting policies Partner cross functionally with colleagues in Legal, Sourcing, OBIE, AP and Procurement to identify and implement contract management process improvement opportunities that reduce complexity and drive efficiencies Drive contracting process excellence across International by regularly reviewing the contracting processes and support by country to ensure optimal calibration to specific business needs Serve as the contracting lead on special cross-functional projects triggered by new laws, regulations or company procedures Develop, organize, and conduct function-specific group trainings Execute contract management assurance and quality control related to risk reviews, redline management and execution to ensure adherence to related policies and SOPs Identify and escalate third party risk issues and concerns as necessary Provide guidance and support to the business in all contract management related issues and questions Required Education Level Proven experience in a similar role required or equivalent combined education. Required Experience Strong project management skills required; ability to manage priorities effectively and work cross- functionally Significant experience managing a team Pharmaceutical Industry experience a plus Required Knowledge/Skills Detailed oriented with outstanding follow through skills to provide excellence customer service. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple, high urgency requests in a timely and effective manner. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Viewed as subject matter expert within Vertex by Business Partners; able to bring new ideas and information that create tangible value to business. Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong knowledge of third party risk management and contracting tools, including business intelligence and reporting platforms. Strong analytical capabilities; expertise working with data analytical/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. Able to generate necessary data and reports to support their activities. Strong project management and organizational skills. Able to create detailed project plans, including an understanding of dependencies as well as critical path elements for larger, more involved projects. Track record of successful execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives. Able to lead teams in collaborative manner to drive successful outcomes. Collaboration extends beyond Business Partners to include other functional areas including Legal, Compliance, Finance, among others. Able to establish and maintain effective business partner relationships at highest levels within the organization; gained their respect and trust; Thoughtful and active listener; able to think quickly and effectively articulate points of view. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal); able to clearly articulate opinions in concise and persuasive manner. Comfortable speaking in front of groups and/or leading meetings that may include Executive-level Management personnel. Ability to work in collaborative, team environment; ability to cultivate and maintain effective business partner relationships through earned respect and trust.
