The vacancy Are you a skilled commercial property solicitor or legal executive with social housing experience either in house or in private practice? At Bromford, we are dedicated to providing exceptional legal services that align with our strategic goals. We are currently looking for a proactive social housing property charging solicitor to join our legal property team, offering crucial support to the head of function. This role plays a pivotal part in driving our strategic objectives and ensuring legal compliance while delivering outstanding performance across all property-related legal matters. Your expertise will be vital as you carry out all required due diligence to enable Certificates of Title to be drafted, liaise with external solicitors (for Bromford and funders) and work with colleagues in our new homes and development teams ensuring we have all the required documents to carry out the due diligence review for new build properties including structural warranties, building regulation completion certificate, s.106 agreements and discharge of all planning conditions. You will routinely focus on identifying issues that may impact chargeability or the valuation attainable and identifying solutions. Additionally, you will provide general property legal advice, offering technical and professional leadership while shaping service delivery, establishing internal standards, policies, and procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. You will lead efforts to continuously improve processes, focusing on efficiency, value for money, and learning from service failures. Furthermore, you will develop and manage work plans for the enabling service, ensuring their effective execution within strategic timelines. By coaching and training colleagues across the organisation, you'll contribute to strengthening internal capabilities and improving service delivery. Building and maintaining strong relationships with other teams and ensuring open communication will be essential to your success. This role is permanent and full time. You can be based from any of our main offices in Chipping Sodbury, Tewkesbury or Wolverhampton with regular visits to our Tewkesbury office. The role requires a basic DBS check. The right person will ideally be able to demonstrate direct, or transferable, experience or knowledge of: Qualifications & Experience: Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive (preferably with conveyancing authority) Minimum of two years PQE (post-qualified experience), preferably within the social housing sector Strong experience in land, commercial property, conveyancing, landlord and tenant law and real estate finance preferably within the social housing sector High level of computer literacy and ability to present information in a user-friendly manner Demonstrable financial acumen and commercial insight You will: Be a strong communicator with the ability to secure and maintain productive relationships with key partners and stakeholders Have commitment to delivering excellence and value for money in all areas of work The closing date is Sunday 5 January.
