As a Laboratory Technician at our Settle Creamery, you will play a key part in turning raw milk into our great products ready for packing, by ensuring high manufacturing standards, safety, and high quality of the product and continual development of our processes.
So what do our Laboratory Technicians actually do?
* Conducting tests to analyse utilities samples
* Conducting tests for positive release of the product
* Conducting environmental swabbing and basic microbiology tests
* Keeping accurate records using designated quality control tools and software
* Communicating results to relevant departments and escalating non-conformance issues as required
* Ensuring that laboratory instruments are functioning and that calibrated and verified methods are used
* Coaching your colleagues and conducting internal GMP audits as part of the site auditing team
* Ensuring compliance with site standards
* Collaborating with relevant departments on resolving quality issues and working on improvements
What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role
* A strong sense of professional integrity and a passion for producing high-quality work
* An attention to detail to ensure all recording is 100% accurate
* The ability to communicate effectively with external and internal teams
* Drive toward improvement
* Laboratory experience would be a benefit but is not essential as all training for the role is provided
* Experience in the food industry and food safety knowledge would be a benefit but is not essential as all training for the role is provided
