At NHS Highland we have 2 full-time vacancies within our Estates Department for a Maintenance Shift Technician (Multi-Skilled) covering Raigmore Hospital. The successful candidate will carry out mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair of building services, plant and equipment, which contributes to the provision of excellent patient care. Key Duties & Responsibilities. To provide first line delivery of maintenance (Including Non-routine emergency) and minor works within the post holders skills and trade both during and out with normal hours. To be part of a team providing 24/7 cover in response to emergency breakdowns requiring the post holder to be deemed competent and have a working knowledge of other trades. To act as the responsible / sole Estates site representative on shift for periods of up to 12 hours during the out of hours periods including weekends and public holidays. Key Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required; A recognised apprenticeship in the appropriate trade (Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing), a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years experience. Ability to carry out work in accordance with current regulations and a knowledge of approved Codes of Practice and Industry Standards. A competent working knowledge of other trades enabling the post holder to respond to emergency breakdowns when working to a shift rota. Capability to undertake lone working where on-site supervision or technical support isnt immediately available. Good communication and team working skills.
