Job Description
Purchase Ledger Supervisor
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Manage and maintain the AP ledger and support month-end and year-end close activities.
* Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounts payable team to meet performance goals and maintain high standards of accuracy and productivity.
* Provide training, guidance, and ongoing performance feedback to team members.
* Coordinate workload distribution, monitor progress, and address any workflow bottlenecks.
* Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
* Collaborate with internal departments (Procurement, Finance, and Accounting) to streamline workflows and ensure cross-departmental alignment.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve disputes or payment issues in a timely manner.
* Negotiate payment terms with vendors as needed.
* Prepare and analyze AP reports, providing insights to management on cash flow, outstanding invoices, and departmental performance.
* Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Purchase Ledger Supervisor should have:
* A degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
* Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
* Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
* A thorough understanding of accounting and financial procedures.
* Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
