Job Description
Job Title: Junior/Mid-level Game Mathematician
Department: Games
Reporting to: Chief Product Officer
Salary: up to £50k based on experience
Overview of role
To create game mathematics under the guidance of the Senior Game Producers, as part of an experienced and growing Game development team.
Reflex Gaming’s development ethic is summarised by the following principles:
* fast-paced and agile (with a lowercase “a”);
* getting the job done but not compromising quality;
* highly team-oriented;
* not over-complicating solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
* To work closely with the Senior Game Producer to assist with game technical and statistical specification, developing efficient and optimal methods for implementation and running simulators to assist with mathematical game construction;
* To create “PAR sheets” in Excel that define the game mathematics, under the instruction of the Senior Game Producer, that can then be absorbed by game developers and external partners such as 3rd Party Test Facilities;
* To understand the product roadmap and the logistical and commercial consequences of not completing projects on time.
Experience and Skillset
We are looking for individuals who can fit into a small team and will enjoy working with motivated, experienced, and highly competent colleagues. We recognise that candidates may have different levels of experience and we are willing to consider individuals with no experience up to mid-level.
Personal details
* Strong communication (verbal and written) skills;
* A positive ‘can do’ attitude;
* Ability to interact effectively with all levels of organisation.
Other Attributes and Circumstances
The candidate can be based entirely at home in the UK, but ideally with occasional trips to the Newark office for team meetings or social events. Should the candidate prefer to work in the office, this is also perfectly fine. Working hours are generally a little flexible but should be approximately 8:30 to 17:30 to a total of 40 hours per week.
The candidate will enjoy playing gambling games and slots. As with any product design, this is a key part of product understanding. If you love numbers, games, and innovation, we’d love to hear from you!
