Our teams solve complex problems related to the design, analysis, manufacture, assurance and in-service support of nuclear technology in a variety of domains, including defence, civil nuclear new build, in service plant and decommissioning. The Role In this role you will: Oversee the delivery of nuclear projects within the mechanical engineering discipline related to the design and operation of nuclear plant and nuclear licenced facilities. Liaise and work with client engineering teams (eg design, analysis, safety), manufacturing and operations teams, key technical stakeholders, other customers/partners, and technical experts within Frazer-Nash, building positive working relationships. Deliver high quality technical work and support with verification of team outputs Apply systems engineering principles including stakeholder management, requirements capture, concept selection and detailed design substantiation. Project manage tasks to time, cost and quality expectations Contribute to identifying future resource needs and assist with recruitment Act as a mentor to developing engineers within our organisation Produce proposals to generate and deliver business with existing and new clients. The Qualified Applicant Will Meet The Following Requirements Degree or Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline; Chartered, or working towards chartership with a professional institution (eg IMechE). Previous experience working in a highly regulated industry (eg nuclear, marine, aerospace or petrochemical). Engineering background in at least one of the following technical skill areas: mechanical design, systems engineering, safety case and engineering substantiation, manufacturing processes, site operation and Asset Management Principles. Be a confident communicator, able to interact with clients, colleagues and stakeholders at all levels; Proven project management skills to accept responsibility for delivery to meet time, cost and quality targets. It is to your advantage if you meet any the following additional desirable requirements: Specific nuclear industry experience; Experience of working in a consultancy environment; Specific experience of load vessel design, fluid system design or mechanical handling equipment design. Experience of design for manufacture, design for environment or design for modularisation. Previous experience of developing the delivery of engineering projects. Experience in business development and bid writing.
