Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term
Hours: 8:45 AM - 2:45 PM
Pay Rate: £87 - £108 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive secondary school in Gateshead. This role is perfect for individuals who are committed to helping students overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and grow both academically and personally.
Responsibilities:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in delivering tailored lessons and activities that cater to individual student needs.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
Work closely with teaching staff to implement strategies for behaviour management and emotional support.
Help students build resilience and develop positive coping mechanisms.
Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.
Requirements:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (preferred).
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
