Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

Daily Rate: £85 - £100
Leader Education are seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEN school based in Bradford. The school supports students aged 5 - 19 with a range of Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Mild / Severe Autism, Downs Syndrome and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people on a 1:1 or small group basis within a classroom setting.
Patience and a nurturing approach whilst in the classroom is the best match for these schools. Your responsibilities would include close interaction with a small group of pupils, ensuring they feel supported and are able to complete their work, while also making sure that their needs are met (medicine, food, walks) depending on what the individual requires.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, hours may slightly change depending on the school.
The successful candidate will have:
* School experience is essential, ideally supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs, as the pupils require close support.
* Makaton and/or BSL would be advantageous.
* Team Teach level 2, or willingness to participate in our Team Teach course.
* Ability to reliably commute to work via public transport or personal vehicle.
* A patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff.
* The ability to adapt and respond to the dynamic and individual needs of students.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
