Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Abergavenny Start Date: ASAP Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £83.85 - £100 per day
Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils in a secondary school setting (ages 11-16).
This is a secondary school based in Abergavenny, the school is situated just a 5 minute walk from the town centre. This role involves working one-to-one and in small groups, helping students overcome barriers to learning and develop positive relationships.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant you may be required to work 1:1 with pupils along with taking the lead in small group sessions.
Role Overview:
* Supporting students with challenging behaviour, helping them manage emotions and improve social skills.
* Working collaboratively with staff to create a positive learning environment.
* Using sports-based interventions to engage and motivate pupils. (Coaching experience or sports-related qualifications are highly desirable.)
Ideal Candidate:
* Reliable & flexible – able to adapt to short-notice placements.
* Confident & approachable – with a positive and engaging manner.
* Experienced – previous work in a similar role is preferred.
* Passionate – committed to helping pupils progress at their own pace.
* Strong in behaviour management – able to implement effective strategies.
* Sporting background – experience in sports or coaching is beneficial.
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check (registered on the update service or willing to apply).
* EWC registration (or willingness to register).
* Two recent references to verify experience.
* Right to work in the UK.
