2-3 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: · The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring there is a co-ordinated response to responding to anti-social behaviour (ASB) and nuisance in the borough, involving all relevant partners and services in supporting vulnerable residents and taking action against persistent offenders. · The post-holder will lead a team tasked with problem-solving, anti-social behaviour and nuisance response, investigations and legislative enforcement activities. To develop and drive a performance culture with a focus on delivering excellent customer services to residents when addressing ASB and lead by example for other Council services and social housing landlords. · To drive high performance when managing and resolving anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, ensuring that services meet the needs of residents living in the borough of Newham, embedding a culture of accountability, personal responsibility and continuous improvement among front-line ASB officers. · The post-holder will support the Head of Community Safety and Corporate Resilience, senior officers and elected Members in engaging with other agencies at a local and regional level to ensure a coordinated and shared approach to ASB Key Duties/Accountabilities · Develop constructive relationships with external partners, such as the London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police, Health Services and the Voluntary and Community Sector to solicit their engagement and involvement in partnership work to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour. · Provide professional advice and expertise in the identification of factors that are impeding effective delivery processes and work with strategic and operational managers to outline the systems and processes that may involve the Council, partner agencies and community-based resources. · To lead the operational approach to resolving cases of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and nuisance, through close liaison with Newham Council’s Housing service, the Community Safety enforcement teams and other internal and external partners, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed and are targeted towards effective resolution. Essential Experience Required: · Experience of local government service provision and community safety legislation is essential. · Experience of all relevant legislation including use of all tools and powers to reduce/prevent Anti-Social Behaviour and noise, particularly at the neighbourhood level is essential. Essential Qualification Required: · Educated to degree level or appropriate relevant experience is essential.
