Working within the perioperative care department, you will be supporting the surgical pre-assessment and the perioperative medicine team by coordinating patients through their pre-operative journey in the lead-up to surgery, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams in the process. The department is busy and will see approximately 9000 patients a year with around 30,000 outpatient appointments. You will have line management responsibility of band 2 members of the administration team.

Your main duties will include:
1. Support with the administrative needs of the service including booking and outgoing appointments, scanning, telephone calls, and also support with training new starters in the department.
2. Line manage several perioperative care administrators and be responsible for their appraisals and sickness reviews.
3. Support with the MDT and liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
4. Support the project manager in the administrative developments in the service.
We are looking for someone who has experience with leadership within a team and a background in administration. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and be confident speaking to a number of stakeholders.
