Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with a focus on using modern technologies.
1. Lead the design and development of complex software systems (client-side and server-side) from conception to deployment
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
3. Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
4. Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
5. Develop and design effective APIs
6. Mentor and guide other engineers
7. Stay current on industry trends and technologies to continually improve the team's technical capabilities
8. Ensure that all software development is done to a high standard, and that it is fully tested and deployed in a secure and reliable manner
9. Research and recommend ways to implement emerging payment innovations, including Open Banking, buy now pay later, and alternative digital payment methods
10. Stay current on payment legislation changes globally.
Knowledge Skills and Experience Required
1. Strong technical experience leading the design and development of complex software systems
2. Extensive experience of working in large scale enterprise software development with a global reach
3. Knowledge of multiple front-end and back-end languages (Node.js, React, Next.js, Typescript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and their libraries
4. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
5. Familiarity with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB
6. Experience with service oriented architecture
7. Proficiency with Git, Confluence, Jira
8. Demonstrable experience of Test Driven Development, unit testing tools, and experience of integration testing and continuous integration / deployment
9. Working knowledge of cloud technologies, including AWS and Terraform
10. Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and Deployments to the cloud
11. Ability to write application code and automated tests according to team-adopted practices, disciplines, and quality guidelines
12. Self-starter that can take a product problem and develop a working technical solution
Other Specifications
1. Identify and communicate patterns to improve software development
2. Advocate and evangelise for best practices like Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
3. Help to maintain and develop automated test suites, aiming for constant improvement
4. Provide regular and accurate reports of progress
5. Compile user guides, documentation and instruction pages for other QA team members
6. Be the point of contact for testing within a Scrum team
7. Make testing related decisions on behalf of the Scrum team
8. Look for gaps in process and seek to make improvement
9. Assist with interviewing new candidates
10. Help new starters with the on-boarding process
11. Mentor new QA team members in testing and in test automation
