EUC Infrastructure Engineer

As an EUC Infrastructure Engineer, you will work closely with all EUC/Infrastructure colleagues, in the UK and across Europe, within the Postcode Lottery Group and support the Group EUC Manager to implement the Group Strategy. The EUC Infrastructure Engineer will also work closely with other teams to integrate EUC solutions with broader IT strategies.
Your tasks:
* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the security, integrity and availability of all EUC infrastructure hardware, EUC server resources, systems, and key processes.
* Coordinate and perform maintenance and upgrades of network infrastructure on-premise and virtual private cloud.
* Provide support for and troubleshoot issues related to the Microsoft 365 suite of products, for example, Intune, Entra ID, SSO (Enterprise Applications) and Exchange.
* Monitor daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up and backups are appropriately configured.
* Provide 3rd Line support on request, investigating, analysing, and troubleshooting issues and incidents.
* Repair and recover from solution failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders.
* Actively seek new ways to automate and improve Azure infrastructure operational posture (security, monitoring and logging).
* Work with diverse technical and non-technical teams, including Development, DevOps, Risk assurance, IT Operations, Customer Operations and Project Management.
* Apply patches and system upgrades on a regular basis and implement new services as necessary.
* Carry out performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimisation as required.
* Provide guidance on on-premise and cloud infrastructure design, security controls and policies.
* Carry out regular maintenance and upgrades for LAN, MAN, WAN, SAN and Wireless Networks.
* Collaborate, communicate, and assist IT teams locally and internationally.
* Contribute to designing and implementing disaster recovery connectivity.
Your qualities:
* Degree in relevant IT discipline and experience working as a Senior System Administrator or relevant experience.
* Experience in an Infrastructure Analyst role.
* Experience working with back-office technologies such as SAN, SQL, DR Platforms, and Linux systems.
* Extensive experience working with MS Azure.
* Knowledge of automation and scripting, proficient in PowerShell.
* Experience in the implementation of significant technology projects in a corporate environment.
* Experience in providing Infrastructure service & support for business-critical systems.
* Demonstrable experience in building systems with security by design.
* Experience with market-leading security solutions such as Splunk, Sophos, and Automox.
* Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, DNS, DHCP), firewalling technologies, LAN administration, WAN and Wifi.
* Preferably Azure certified to at least solutions architect level.
* Experience working with desktop virtualisation technologies (e.g. Azure Virtual Desktop).
* Extensive knowledge of networking topologies, routing, firewalls, protocols etc.
* Working within the controls of ISO 27001, 27017, and BS 10012.
* Strong decision-making skills, often with multiple, complex, and competing factors.
* Strong communication skills in official written documentation, reporting, memos, and proposals, but also presentation skills, building rapport, influencing, and conducting negotiations.
* Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technology solutions.

Our Group Tech team works alongside the other Postcode Lotteries and is responsible for lottery processes, service management, cyber security, end-user computing, data management, cloud and development.
