JOB TITLE: Production Operative REPORTING TO: Production Supervisor Hours: 12 hour Continental Shift Pattern, rotating day and night every 2 weeks, 14 shifts in 28 days Rate: Trainee £11.55 1 Loom £12.08 2 Loom £12.60 3 Loom £13.13 BENEFITS: Company Pension, Private Medical Care, Onsite Parking GENERAL ROLE: Operating and maintaining our production line machinery in an effective and efficient manner ensuring orders are met on time. RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality To work within the internal quality system ensuring that a high standard of production is maintained through to finished product stage. Maintain quality records where required and carry out regular inspection duties. Report all deficiencies to the production supervisors. Health and Safety All employees must work to the guidelines laid down in the factory and operate at all times in a safe and responsible manner and liaise with the supervisors in creating a safe working environment. Machine Operation Operating and monitoring the operation of automatic and semi-automatic machines involved in the manufacturing process. Carry out routine operational checks and undertake any basic maintenance on machinery within the guidelines of the supervisor. Packing Packing finished goods in appropriate storage containers and ensuring goods are properly weighed, labelled, packaged and stored. Housekeeping Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and undertake some tidying duties relating to maintaining the standards within the factory. Other Duties Any other duties requested which are deemed reasonable for the post. QUALIFICATIONS: GCSE English and Math C Grade or higher (or equivalent) EXPERIENCE:Previous experience in working as part of a team is essential Working within a production orientated environment is desirable but not essential Engineering / plastics sector experience would be an advantage. SKILLS:Operators will need to be able to work within a high intensity production environment and be able to adapt quickly. Good ability to communicate well in English with other production personnel areas is essential. Be able to demonstrate a high attention to detail. Good time keeping and reliability are essential. HEALTH:Applicants should be healthy and not possess any conditions which would prove hazardous when working with machinery.
