Building Services Manager
North West
An opportunity has arisen for a Building Services Manager to join the team at Galliford Try. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Manchester area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the North West of this Region.
What you will be doing:
* Manage the production of outsourced design and direct the design and installation of services and associated builders work to meet project targets of time, cost, and quality.
* Manage the Mechanical and Electrical Services Consultants and Sub Contractors throughout the design, installation, and testing commissioning of the services installation.
* Be responsible for attaining the highest H&S standards on site. Lead the site team by example and develop a positive H&S culture.
* Review the safety and quality plan to ensure it meets the highest standards ensuring compliance with the GT business management system (BMS) and health, safety and environmental (SHE) standards.
* Manage and develop the H&S plan (construction phase) specific to each project in conjunction with the planning supervisor and project manager.
* Manage all discipline sub-contractors to produce a detailed contract programme for their respective works relating to the overall contract programme.
* Ensure all discipline sub-contractors produce a weekly return of labour, plant and materials.
* Develop a "Best Quality" culture with sub-contractors. Set high standards with regard to workmanship.
* Ensure all sub-contractors carry out their construction work in compliance with the Drawings and Specification.
* Maintain a professional and co-operative relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
* Qualification in a recognised Building Services Subject to HNC / Degree Level.
* Previous experience of working with a Main Contractors in a Building Services Role would be an advantage.
* Full working knowledge of aspects and law, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and CDM 2015.
* Basic sub-contract processes - contract and commercial.
* Basic appreciation and knowledge of project management - programming, cash flow analysis, resource planning etc.
