As an S7 at St Austell Station you will have a multifunctional role. You will provide staff coverage on the stations you will ensure that customer requirements are met and exceeded, sell tickets via our ticketing system and provide journey information and that station activities including the dispatching of train services and platform management are completed safely and punctually, as well assistance to customers and ensure that the station environment is kept to a high standard.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Providing the highest level of customer service and being dedicated to customer needs
2. Selling tickets and providing journey information using our ticket selling system.
3. Ensuring the safe and punctual departure of trains from the station, following correct dispatch procedures
4. Providing information and assistance to customers
5. Ensuring the safety of customers, staff, visitors and contractors is given the highest priority
6. Maintaining a safe, pleasant, and clean station environment
You'll need to be:
7. Able to deliver extraordinary front line customer service
8. Able to understand customer requirements and expectations
9. A self-starter with a can do attitude
10. Confident when decision-making
11. Calm yet directive in a crisis
12. Able to work to strict procedures
As a minimum you'll need to have:

About the location
St Austell Station provides good transport links to the surrounding area. During the busy holiday periods due to its proximity to many popular tourist locations and being the station sees an increase in leisure passengers.
Working pattern
This role will require working full time, and includes working weekends and bank holidays.
Additional information
Applicants successfully short listed will be invited to a undertake an ability test and competency based interview. The successful candidate will be required to meet the medical standards for the role, including hearing and vision tests, as well as a drugs and alcohol screen. A Basic DBS is also required.
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate which will take place at our Training Centre in Swindon. Corporate induction and training will be up to 3 weeks. Hotel accommodate is provided whilst on the training courses.
Interviews will take place on 22nd October 2024.
